Carmel Rooney has enjoyed an extraordinary year of international recognition, receiving five prestigious international art awards during 2025 and seeing her work featured in catalogues associated with each of the prizes.

Her achievements have taken her artistic journey from Athlone onto the international stage, with recognition in some of the world's most celebrated centres for contemporary art, including Florence Milan, New York and Venice.

Amount the highlights of her remarkable year was being named international prize artist of the year 2025 in Florence. The award was curated by internationally recognised art curators Salvatore Russo and Francesco Saverio Russo through the Effetto Arte Foundation. The prestigious Artist of the year event was held in Florence at Palazzo Pucci, bringing together artists and art professionals from around the world.
